Lest we forget

I went to the Anzac Day march this morning.   A smaller group of marchers I think than usual.  Sometimes the navy has a ship in port and then it swells.  We have a nearby Airbase so there are always air men and women.  These are the dogs from the air base.  This had to be my blip because the dog was looking right at me and smiling.  There were quite a few of them marching with their handlers and two I think had to be checked as they wanted to come over to Maggy.   Yes, she likes the march too.  The only thing she didn't like was the lightning that did a low fly past and nearly deafened us both.  As usual in Newy, I met the past owners of Meg who belonged to one of my volunteer therapy dog friends who passed away many years ago.  The couple had given her dog Meg the most wonderful last six years of her life.   Abby, who belongs to T and R was also one of L's dogs and Meg was the great granny of Abby.   Its a very small world here.   I think only two degrees of separation is about the norm.

I have put some extras up.

I watched the dawn service at Gallipoli.   I find it always a moving service but particularly because it is always a shared experience with our kiwi neighbours and Turkish friends who have done a wonderful job looking after the war graves.
