New Life
After having the second better night Mr HB thought he might like a bit of a change of scene today and as he had a load of re-packed parachutes which needed to be returned to the Gliding Club, I suggested we should go if he felt well enough. The weather was warm but the Easterly wind and low visibility didn’t allow any flying. Good for Mr HB’s purposes as there were more people in the club house to talk to. I think the couple of hours we spent up there did him more good than any medication, but by the time we got home he was more than ready to return to his bed again for a good rest. Obviously we need to take each day as it comes and not overdo it.
Once he was settled in bed I nipped round the corner to give my friend M a Birthday card and pressie. 86 years old today and still so very young at heart; the mother of 8 children and the head of a wonderful family who I’ve known for over 50 years, ever since I came to live in Shropshire. Some of the family were there and I spent a little time with them before returning home to see how my patient was….. enjoyed his sleep and was happily sitting upright reading his latest edition of Pilot magazine.
As we descended the big hill off the Long Mynd it was a joy to see the new life, Mum with her new colt/filly.
Extra: The Book: ‘Walking out of the Dark’. It has arrived. Many congratulations to fellow Blipper intothehills for all your bravery and for turning your negative into the positive. Very well done Kelvyn, can’t wait to turn your pages.
