Wasps Incoming...
Brian worked his first Saturday morning in his new job today, so I had a fairly leisurely morning. I wasn't late up though.
Once he was home I got him to take me to visit my Mum in her care home. It was a bit later than I normally go. Mum was pretty dozy most of the time. I'm not sure she even registered that I was there, never mind knowing who I was...
I'd intended paying money into her personal funds but there was no one around who could take the payment. I'll give them a call on Monday and try to do it over the phone. I also want to discuss her health with the nurse.
When Brian picked me up we nipped into Hartsholme so I could get a Blip. I took a few shots and if I'd taken my camera I could have got a good shot of a Great Crested Grebe, just coming into its summer plumage. It was so close, but I couldn't get a decent shot with my phone.
This shot of a gall on an oak tree is the most interesting shot I could get today. The gall is created by a wasp larva, or possibly larvae.
Home now and watching some rugby league. Castleford, who are pretty poor, are beating Huddersfield who are even worse.
Brian is probably going out to the local pub tonight. I'm not going as I know I will end up drinking over my current limit if I do. It's not that I can't enjoy myself without a drink, just that I'd rather not put myself in the path of temptation. And I find drunk people very annoying if I'm sober! I might have a couple at home though...
Tomorrow we are going to Hull in the afternoon - our first live rugby league game this season. Wigan Warriors will take on Hull FC. That city is not always a happy hunting ground for us, but hopefully we will get the win tomorrow.
