Inland Waterway Museum

…in the small town of Wörth on the river Main, between Frankfurt and Würzburg. Nicely installed in the disused and profaned church of St. Wolfgang, the visitors find a lot of models of ships, steam and Diesel engines and of locks, many tools historically needed by the boatmen, information on the stadia of river shipping as well as on the recurrent flooding that occurred before a regulation system was installed. Nowadays the river Main carries weirs and locks to allow goods (and pleasure) shipping the year round.
