Marjorie's ramblings

He's behind you!

I was at a retirement farm sale this morning. There were over 500 lots to be sold. I was there for the morning, by which time about 250 lots had been sold, all small items laid out in a large barn. The larger equipment and tractors etc were in the field.

As usual, I found very interesting people to talk to. One explained that the family had been here for over 50 years, but the parents and one bachelor son had decided to retire. The landowner is allowing the farm to go over to biomass production. Hmm.

It's a beautiful farm at the moment.

One of the men I met is Malcolm in my image. He was very interested in photography and has taken his gypsy caravan to different places to be photographed. He decided where he wanted to sit to be photographed. His mate Lenny was coming over as I started to make images with Malcolm. We had a bit of fun with this one.

My extra shows that very special guests can unexpectedly turn up in Northumberland at a farm sale.

This afternoon, Kay and Eric came over. We went to Wark and did a bit of the wild flower walk. The river is even lower than before. I think that the flowers really need some rain and sun to look at their best by Wednesday.

We had tea/coffee/biscuits back at my home and chatted for ages.

It was a most enjoyable day.
