Four Apple Macs, all in a row
A day of sitting at the kitchen table and helping Lonny with some IT related stuff. He is moving from a very old Mac computer to a newer version and some things work differently, or need some tweaks to get them working as he wants.
(How do you change the zoom calendar so the week starts on Sunday rather than Monday? - I can now tell you if you need to know!)
It's not that I'm super knowledgeable about such things because I couldn't answer most of Lonny's questions when he asked me. But I do seem to know how to look for the answer successfully.
There was one minor Microsoft quirk that I couldn't fix - I began finding an answer but it seemed so complicated it seemed better to wait for Microsoft to update their updater! And there was a hardware problem that was beyond my competence - I'm not about to start picking an external hard disk to pieces, especially when it contains important files. I'll leave that to the professionals!
It was a good day. I enjoy such puzzle solving, and Lonny got most of his problems solved. We've even lined up the next areas to work on.
Jan was also helpful. She knew how to download keyboards, spellchecks etc for other languages, which saved me searching.
Rose came out in the late afternoon and we all ate a gorgeous meal of chicken, mash, and butter carrots, followed by newly baked cake and newly discovered Anzac biscuits. (Thanks Jan!)
Tomorrow we'll have to do some more walking to offset a day of sitting and that delicious meal!
