Leo at lesiure...and saga of recycling

Photo:  when is a photo no longer a photo but morphed into something different like a digital painting?

Saga of Re-cycling
I thought I would have no problem getting rid of a bamboo headboard in excellent condition.
Therefore, it came as a shock today when the guy at the Recycling Hub in Stirling said bluntly: “Burn it ! nobody wants bamboo headboards. They are old fashioned.”
( I didn’t even have a chance to get it out of the car ).

“Then how do I get rid of it?”
“Give it to charity…try the Salvation Army.”
“I have. They don’t have space. What do I do?”
“Burn it. Bamboo burns well.”
I am shocked “But it’s in good condition. Surely someone might like it?”
“No. Its old fashioned.”

So much for recycling.
Now its destined for the tip
But first I had a wander around the hangar like space of Stirling Reuse - Hub,  stuffed to the gunnels with everything from household furniture to bric a brac ,electrical equipment, even golf clubs and all in good condition.  Very few were buying.

Sadly, we all want new, shiny fashionable things, never mind the price.Or the  environmental cost to the planet.
