Fyvie castle
Still cold and overcast, so went to Fyvie to walk. Quite a few other people about with the same idea. They are gradually clearing up storm damage, like all the major woods in Aberdeenshire, though there's always more to do. One swan on the loch, and some fine bluebells.
Tea and a fruit scone at the tea room, and some biscuits from the shop. Then walked around the fairly new formal kitchen garden - lots of canes with no sprouts yet, and some fine apple blossom. The best of the blossom was on the trees against the wall, and on the trees in big pots collected together in a back corner as though waiting to be moved for display.
Found a farm road heading the other way, then had to work down through an open wood to a bridge across the Ythan. Back through the home farm, which needs a lot of repairing.
Rain came on as I was driving back to Turriff. More damp later .. the land needs the rain.
