Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head!
We were out and about early on this Saturday morning to pick up a couple of Boy Scout hoagies for $8 apiece; they always sell them when there are home PSU football games, and even on this day, for the Blue/White game.
It was pouring when my husband dropped me at my favorite pond in the Scotia Barrens. I got a thorough soaking despite my sunflower umbrella (hey, I kept the camera dry!), but I had a great time and it was well worth every drop of rain that got me. I am a girl who loves the rain.
The precip was almost TOO heavy to make the patterns and circles I enjoy so much, but I did get some good stuff, and I heard frogs calling nearby. So here is a photo of my favorite vernal pond in a quite heavy spring rain.
While I was buying our hoagies, I had the opportunity to chat with the local Scouts, and so I asked how their recent shoe drive went: how many shoes did they actually get? A guy who was one of the Scout leaders informed me they collected around 2,000 pairs of shoes!
I congratulated them on that accomplishment, and then admitted sheepishly that I myself had donated 50 pairs of shoes to their cause. (Yeah, I know. Just call me "Imelda." Sadly, the 50 pairs I let go were just a drop in the bucket; I own several hundred pairs of shoes!)
They all shouted Thank You! to me as I walked away. And I was shouting Thank You! to THEM for our hoagies! A lady with curly hair said to me: "You have a good sole [soul]. Get it: SOLE!" And I laughed at her pun and nodded and said, "Good one!"
I have one photo, but here are two songs. First is the one you expected to hear: B.J. Thomas, with Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head. Second, for the "sole" story, here is Tracy Chapman, with All That You Have Is Your Soul; Tracy's full concert from 12/04/88 can be viewed here. By the way, the Tracy Chapman song I've linked to was part of one of the Bridge School Concerts, Volume 1, from 1996. (More about the Bridge School and the concerts here.) You're welcome!
