The fearful season

Out all day in Exeter, I did take my little compact camera, but the city was packed full of tourists & I was so busy enjoying a bit of retail therapy, I forgot about blip (it happens you know!). So home in the sunshine & me straight out with my camera. I love the fennel growing by the bird table & love it even more as it's covered in wasps. They're so intent in gathering nectar that they take no notice of me - this is my third day photographing them, I always like to come back to a subject in a different light, plus the times before it's been too windy to get in focus shots. I think someone commented on the last wasp photo I took that they never realised how hairy they were, well, I agree! Hairy beast! (the wasp, not the blipper.... ;)
And not a bird, but something that makes a bird...
Lost
On Thursday it's our annual trip to the Rutland Bird Fair, it's the 25th Anniversary year & I really can't wait! I'm not sure if I'll have internet, so my blips will be very hit & miss over the coming week, as afterwards we're staying in a beautiful pub further along in Rutland in a village called Market Overton. It's our first holiday since February & it's so needed! The next few days are going to be spent packing & sorting - oh & washing, there's so much to wash, you'd think we were going away for 6 months! :) xxx
