Pole Star

A full on 11 hour day left little time for photos. So as an emergency blip in the evening I looked out of the office window onto the harbour at Leith. We can't swing the windows open so tis had to be taken through the glass so a bit of distortion.

I liked the way the sunlight was catching the foreground against the darker sky over Fife.

The ships come and go and there are some who find out their details. This is one of the more regular visitors. The NLV Pole Star is a lighthouse tender operated by the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) http://www.nlb.org.uk/ which looks after the operation of lighthouses around the coasts of Scotland and the Isle of Man.
