Shock and Orr...

Surrey second eleven started a four day friendly match against Hampshire at the LSE Sports Ground in New Malden today. Both teams had a mixture of youth and experience in their line-ups, the more experienced players generally being those coming back from injury.

Hampshire opener Ali Orr is one such experienced player, and he looked relatively comfortable against the first three bowlers used by Surrey, who were all in the more junior category.

Things changed with the introduction of Nathan Barnwell to the attack, who, whilst still very young, is frighteningly quick. This may not be the best shot I took this morning but I liked it for the rather startled expression on Orr's face - two overs later Barnwell had sent both him and his opening partner on their way via catches to the wicketkeeper
