Determina

I’m not sure why I haven’t unearthed her before. A tree or shrub must have been cut away, giving full sight of this remarkable statue just a few metres from the office frontage.

She really sums up the mood of the moment. Strong, relentless, believing in herself, determined to get wherever it is she’s going. I will call her Determina. I wonder how long she’s been there and what her story is. Maybe her story is ours, anyone’s. Symbolic of feminine resilience.

The bees have buzzed off. We had to pop the odd straggler out through the day but the ominous background hum has abated!
