Rowan tree
It seems as if every garden in our neighbourhood has at least one rowan tree in it and they're all heavy with berries at the moment.
Maybe it's the Celt in me but I've always been partial to these trees (which I think are also known as Mountain Ash in other parts); they've a rich presence in folklore particularly as a protection against evil spirits. More benignly, you can also make a rather nice preserve from the berries which does the trick with game...
