I grew them!
3years 295days
We got some podded broad beans in our veg delivery a couple of weeks ago. Katie thought it was brilliant- she spent ages shelling them and sorting the pods and beans separately. I remembered at school growing broad beans in jam jars so we decided we would plant some to see if we could get them to grow. I should at this stage point out that I am appalling with plants. Really bad. Anyway, we watered them, put them in a window low enough that Katie could see them daily. They got knocked to behind the curtain and I forgot about them. But Katie remembered. We went back to them and while in the few days the tissue had dried out, the beans had begun to sprout. A bit more care followed! And in a few short days, the roots had developed quite well. When I went to them this morning, all three had broken through the tissue and are fully fledged sprouts. She's proudly taken them to nursery this morning. We are going to replant them in proper pots tonight and send one home with Granny & Grandad too.
