The Carse of Stirling

A beautiful day for a drive to Stirlingshire and a great blipmeet with Freuchie, whose patch this is. A very long lunch and some hoarse throats later and it was time for an equally stunning drive home.

I had to stop several times on the way just to take in the splendour of the views and this is looking over the Carse of Stirling (a carse is a wide, fertile valley), nestled between the Ochil Hills on one side and the Menteith Hills on the other. This view looks north to the Menteith Hills, with several Highland peaks in the distance, including Ben Ledi on the left and Ben Vorlich on the right.

Also stopped to photograph Stirling Castle, but that can be a blip for another day as it's a bit closer to home:-)

Today is Freuchie's 500th blip and I urge you to have a look at her delightful blip for today, plus an extra gem in her folio!
