£1,038.87........

It was all going horribly well this morning. Tasks were getting ticked off the list, and then my post arrived. A brown envelope from HMRC dropped onto my desk, so that wiped the smile off my face . Apparently we (my employer) owe £1, 038.87 or was it £1083.37 , I can't remember now as I have spent most of the day trying to find the discepancy. This number will now haunt me until I crack it , or it cracks me . The battle resumes in the morning , I do like a challenge.
