Remembering poppies

Poppies are one of my favourite flowers and also something I associate with one of my favourite people. This photo was taken exactly one month before what would have been their 96th birthday so I thought it fitting to start my 1st ever blipfoto journal with a shot which could evoke so many feelings for me. Happiness, sadness, appreciation, wonder, joy and satisfaction all immediately come to mind when I look at this. I've never had poppies growing in my garden before but I certainly will do every year after this
