heart of stone

my day at work had its ups and downs as they do from time to time. started well with two bikes built and pleanty of sales going threw. on every bike in the shop we advertise our bike care plan service for £14.99 (all labour covered for a year).

at around lunch time an african woman came in with her children looking for a new bike "i will take this one for £14.99" she tells me will im talking to another costomer i explane to her that this is a seporate service we offer and that the bike is actualy £79.99 before continuing to help the other costomer. she buts in again with "NO it is shown at this price i WILL pay this price" and waves a pair of tenners in my face. i ask if she would like to see the manager and call Mick over. "i would like to make a complaint your staff are racist and rude!" mick explained he was stood only 5 foot away and heard every word that was said she then marched out the shop. then to my delight the american customer i was talking to previusly said "i dont care where she's from that was plain bad manners."

then towords the end of the day i helped a man decide weather it was worth getting his old bike fixed or to get a new one (new one would end up cheaper) then help choose a bike. he asked to talk to mick and told him "never let go of this one honest people who know what there talkin about are like rocking horse spit (paraphrased)"

At the time i didn't give the racist acusation a second thought but wile on my lunch i started to think, what if mick didn't hear? or what if she was the only customer in the store, that could have easly cost me my job iff not worse.

the picture bares no deliberate connection to the day at work just a house mate threw out an avacado past its best and i salvaged the stone from it.
