Mrs Evil Goat

Our date on top of England

Auntie Sue and Uncle K very kindly offered (no arm twisting involved at all) to look after Tobes and Eva today so we could climb Scafell Pike. Never mind the three peak challenge in 24 hours, it has only taken us 11 years to do the three peaks! We really appreciated it as we have wanted to go up there for a while but didn't see how we could do it until the children are older.

Its the first time we have both left Eva in the day and I had a few moments on the way up just because we would be out of contact all day but we had a brilliant day and the views were stunning. We took a slightly different route up to the normal way up so we could have a bit of a scramble, which was good fun.

We made it to the top just in time as just after we had our lunch, the cloud came in. Charley came with us and enjoyed morsels of fresh scone, jam and cream from a nice group. Alfie stayed behind as he wouldn't have coped with the scrambly bits. Charley was really obedient without Alf! They were so pleased to see each other when we got down.

We went to the pub near the campsite for dinner. Its a fantastic place and looks like a lovely place to stay - lots of nice touches like a pile of doggy towels in the lobby and a doggy biscuit tin. A proper walkers pub! We put Tobes down for a sleep this afternoon so he could stay up later but he was hyper and was running round and round with Alex. He was totally fascinated by the birthday cake. Eva was a star and let me have dinner before she started crying for her feed.
