Lonesome Dove

Confession time: I only took this image so I could use the title.

Anyone remember that extraordinarily graphic mini-series on TV? Based on Larry McMurtry's Pulitzer Prize winning novel. I believe it was shot in New Mexico, but to be honest I couldn't watch all of it - just a tad too gritty for my tastes. Dean Semler (a South Australian) was one of the unit directors. It won a scad of awards, and rightly so.

Annnyway, this little Dove of the same name has been calling for a mate for the past 3 days, and so far has been unlucky. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
