Suicide Awareness

Suicide rates in young people in Ireland are high. This was a local fundraising event in Kilcrohane for Suicide Aware, a group started by a young woman whose brother hung himself, and which aims to raise awareness to the potential for suicide amongst friends and relatives of those that may be vulnerable.

I was very moved on seeing a funeral procession through Bantry last year which was largely made up of school children in uniform. The deceased was their classmate who had committed suicide.
