The inner workings of Southwold Lighthouse

The size of bulb is tiny compared to the range of its beam. It is all done by mirrors.
The tour guide explained how each lighthouse in the world has its unique 'character' (signature) so it can be recognised by shipping. The 'character' of the Southwold light was changed at the end of 2012.
"This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine."
