Selfie assignment - take#2

I initially set out today to try and fulfill one of the "August Challenges" set forth by DDW - "French." The Irving Centre Gardens have signs that are English on one side and French on the other. I was going to make a chimera....

This didn't work and I found myself chasing bees through the milkweeds, talking to the gardener about the fund raising calendar, and then ultimately ending up in the herbarium trying to come up with an artistic "back cover" for the calendar. I then thought it might also be a good venue for a "selfie" for the photo club August assignment.

The WTN/AJ laughs, albeit nervously at times, at how I can set out to do one task and manage to end up doing something completely different. She finds this occurs most frequently when there's a camera in front of my beak. In my mind all these "events" were connected, it's just that a bilingual sign and me in a herbarium, by themselves, would not make sense to the casual onlooker, or you know who...
