The joy of trains
I had a training day in Leeds today at the university and as I think driving into Leeds at rush hour is a silly idea I thought I would get the train. We got told the university building was about 15 minute walk from the train station so I decided to get a train which gave me 50 minutes to get there. However when I got to the train station all the trains said cancelled and there were a mornings worth of commuters hanging around. Anyway a train turned up which we all sat on, then another, 2 carriage train, showed up which we all ran and jumped on instead. Luckly this one left but it was very full so a lot of the people who had been waiting for a long time at other stations couldn't get on. I eventually made it to the training day but we did have to ask a nice man for directions and he walked us to the building.
Typically I then got to the station to go home with a minute and a half to spare so had to run and squish on the train like a sardine. All in all I was glad to get back and very grateful that my job is a pleasant 15 minute drive and no way near a train or Leeds.
