Ballochmyle Viaduct

Our walk last night took us along a section of the River Ayr walk and we passed under this viaduct. It is the highest in Britain and it might even have the world's highest masonry arch. It is of course built with Ballochmyle red sandstone.
On our return, this long goods train just happened to be crossing over. Timely!
My recollections from a previous visit were so scant that we missed the cup and ring markings nearby. My excuse was that everything was overgrown!
It was a beautiful evening and we saw fishermen out on another stretch of the river but no fish jumped for us.
