Checking the workers
It is 5 weeks since I last photographed progress on the new Science block at school. I wanted to go in at least once over the summer holiday to make sure that I didn't miss any major stages of construction, so I went there this afternoon.
All the internal block walls downstairs are now complete, and those upstairs are at an advanced stage. A lot of the external brick skin has now been completed, and some of the window frames are in place (but without glass as the moment). The roof is virtually complete - something like three layers of foam insulation, with a rubber-like waterproof sheet material on the top. There are also trenches around some of the other buildings on the site as they are now starting to bring in the services.
The usual site manager was on holiday this week, so I met up with his temporary replacement, who seems in this picture to be peering round the corner to check up on the workers.
