Charitable Donation
My Nan was one of life's great bargain hunters and she used to love trawling the local charity shops looking for trinkets and cheap clothes.
There was one in particular that she used to go to all the time and Nan being Nan she soon got chatting to the volunteers there and became good friends with them.
Over the past few months, my mum has been giving up a couple of hours of her time each Thursday to help out at the same charity shop that my Nan used to enjoy so much. Mum is a chip off the ol' block and also enjoys a good bargain hunt as well as sorting through the donations left by other people.
Due to the 300 miles between us, we don't visit that often, but as we were down South I wanted to pop in and see her in her element. This is her (on the right, you wags!) with one of the other ladies who helps out there. I'm proud of her for doing this and also glad that it makes her happy to do it.
It was a nice half hour pottering about the shop, particularly as The Carmenator was able to pick up a couple of thimbles (she's collecting them) and I was able to score a Bill Bryson book for 20p.
