Cooking the Books

Book Week Parade coming very soon, and with a bookworm daughter very particular needs are expressed.

She is going as Pippi Longstocking, which I thought would be easy-peasy lemon squeezy but the wig is too red, and the dress has to look exactly as per Lauren Child's illustration (blue with red patches in a butterfly heart shape).

Her Dalmatian dress hasn't taken to the blue food covering, and the stripy stockings are long lost in the squalor that is her bedroom.

But despite her complaints, she will no doubt overflow with amazed joy (such is her nature) when Monday rolls around.

Now, if only she would practice her plutification and spelling!
