Hey hey L McA

One of the things my dear old Dad taught me was to take pleasure in little things, and here's one of them.
I inherited this ring when my husband's aunt died a few years ago,and I wear it almost every day. It's a Victorian ring of diamonds and opals, and I just love opals. There's a superstition that opals are unlucky, and the royal family never wear them, but I like the beautiful colours in them that catch the light.
There's an inscription inside it that says L McA, 4/11/1897. It's a bit of a mystery, because that's not a family surname,so maybe auntie inherited it from a friend.
Perhaps it was a present for L McA's twenty-first birthday. I'll never know, but I hope she enjoyed wearing it as much as I do.
