The Queens Hotel

This is the last of the old dockyard area of Grangemouth. Once a hotel serving the dockyards (and a fine looking building in it's day). It was at the heart of the port and from old photos the centre of some beautiful buildings. They are all gone, replace by non descript metallic box warehouses and derelict land. This was still operating up until the mid nineties though by then it had a reputation as a sailors bar where "comfort" could be sought by visiting crews. The front part was demolished after a fire and what was left was used as motor repair workshop until another fire pretty much finished it off. When they finally bulldoze this then that will be the last of the old port and town gone.
