Basement Storage
We're having to clean up and organize in the basement because my wife's going back to school. And office full of books and files now sits on plastic shelves from Home Depot and Lowes. I suppose you can't reduce your life to your work, let alone the piles of stuff from your office. But if you want to see a big part of what 15 years of life look like, it's one place to start.
I can't imagine cleaning out my office. Books and files from floor to ceiling, literally. Mostly organized. More at home. Less organized. Geologists are debating whether to call our era the Anthropocene, an era in geological history named after humans. We've produced so much stuff in the past 200 years, much of it now decayed garbage and dirt, we've left an identifiable layer on the planet's stratigraphy.
Looking in my basement, I believe it.
