Today was a good day.

My beautiful daughter has achieved her latest aim in life - she has passed her A-levels and succeeded in securing a place to read Psychology at York University. I am so very proud of her, as are all of her family and friends...

To celebrate we drove to a beautiful village in the mountains to do the children's long-time favourite 'hansi walk' (squirrel walk) - where for the first time in 23 years we saw not a single hansi!! The kids were scandalised - where have all the Swiss squirrels gone to?? And now we are left with 3 bags of hazelnuts that were especially purchased as squirrel treats... Was that where we went wrong? Have squirrels tastes changed over the years? Are hazelnuts passé?? It truly is a mystery...

So - apart from the fact that there were no hansi's - and that the twisty mountain roads made me feel carsick (for the first time in years!) - and that I am missing my lovely Kuifje - today really has been a good day! x
