The year and the barley are both turning

"First the County Show and then winter..." an old farmer spake to me when we met at the GP surgery. Well, I took a walk in the afternoon and noted that although the barley is turning, it's not ripenned yet, so please can winter wait a little while yet? (We also have the house rendering to paint)
