All is a days work

Many GPs are struggling with access and I am constantly being reminded by patients that they have a while to wait to see me.
There are many causes for this and no easy solutions but one increasing problem is the ever increasing volume of paperwork we have to do and the time it takes . This is my paper based in tray at 8 am this morning. This only represents the tip of a very big iceberg as most admin work ( results, reports, blood tests, e mail ) is computer based - I sometimes feel I spend more time staring at a computer screen than I do seeing patients .
