Impromptu trip to Central London!

A chance to visit central London today as Matthew was asked to attend the Swiss Glokenspiel in Leicester Square, more info can be found here, to help a colleague carry out some repairs.

Ted and I had a walk round Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square to take in some landmarks, Big Ben, St Martin in the Fields (Matthew also looks after the clock here) and the Big Blue Cockerel (I have no idea either!!), Nelsons Column etc

We also took the opportunity to carry on our Gromit spotting and called it at Paddington station to see the lonely Gromit who sits between Platforms 8 and 9.....he looks very unloved unlike his counterparts in Bristol!

Part of our journey is on the A40 and we pass the Vanguard Storage yard which has this wording on a banner "Hawker Hunter WT555 the first into the RAF in 1953. Vanguard have lovingly stored this and 1000′s of customers’ goods since 1964″ and as you can see the plane is on top of the roof!! They change this periodically and when it was a model of Big Ben which had a working clock Matt had to go up and fix it!!!
