On the trail of Mr Darcy ... part 2

The "Great Staircase" - supposedly at Jane Austen's "Pemberley", but actually at Sudbury Hall in Derbyshire (as also is the Long Gallery) and not Lyme Park, as popularly supposed - because of technical problems surrounding a change of management at Lyme Park at the time of the BBC filming of Pride and Prejudice.
This fine, white, carved-wood staircase is elegant and unique, leading up to the Queen's Room - a bedroom which is named after the Consort of William IV - Queen Adelaide - who leased Sudbury Hall from Lord Vernon and lived there near the end of her life in the 1840's.
