Rainbow in my kitchen
Seriously. I had this rainbow on my kitchen ceiling today, reflecting off a glass thing that sits on the windowsill. Why the background is dark I have no idea. But I like it better this way :)
So, holidays. Where do I start.....
Ok, we spent 3hrs (very slight exaggeration) trying to put up the 'I know how to put up a tent' tent in gale force winds.
My fella 'Allan' :) - stood on my sunglasses and broke the leg off!
The fridge/cool box inverter adapter thingy broke and Allan nearly electrocuted himself trying to fix it.
The fridge/cool box was broken.....
All the food (I'd taken my slow cooker ((and steamer)) that we bought had to go in the bin because of this!
Lucy's legs got scalded by a cup of coffee due to something falling over on the 'squint' table, which then fell into my coffee cup, which then went all over Lucy's legs. (she was fine after being 'ran' to the tap and sitting with a wet towel over her legs)
The windbreakers snapped in the wind and had to get new ones.
this all happened on the first day by the way
Allan's son cut his foot open while running about with the bare feet he'd been warned not to run about in.
It took us 3 days to fly a kite....
Lucy was ill the first night and finally fell asleep beside a sick bowl in our bed and because I didn't want to move her, Allan had to sleep on the floor in the living area with the wind howling through it.
Abbie woke up screaming 3 nights in a row and I finally pegged it down to the 'noise' levels.
The noise level after the club finished (at 12am) continued by eejits until 4/5am each morning.
Allan's son lost his phone.
'A' child took a huff and went walkabout for 2hrs while we frantically searched just short of phoning the police.
We were all tired, crabby, and me and my fella fell out for 2 days. Thankfully it wasn't two nights coz it was freezing.
Allan's car got a rock thrown at it by a scummy child.
Neve cried for 3hrs because she had to put a crab back in the sea rather than take it home.
Oh....... The brand new tent wasn't waterproof. The girls had to sleep in the living area the last night because their bedroom pod was flooded!
Abbie cried for 1hr because I wouldn't let her take 5 baby frogs home in the car.
All in all, would I do it again? Would I fuck heck :)
My neck/back and shoulders are still sore and not sure if I haven't caught a draft.
But...... In amongst these times, we did manage to find some fun and laughter and peace. The kids all had a great time, and that's what matters :)
So sorry you had to go through my rant, well done if you made it to the end :)
