A real taste of India
We took Mike to the Cinema this afternoon, and decided to call into Wetherspoons for dinner on the way home - trouble is, at 8pm, it was heaving, so we continued through to Cockermouth where we knew of a good chippy (closed down!) - next on to Sainsbury's for an Indian take away (shut). Our last resort was a - frankly - scruffy looking Indian Take away down a back street - Mike (and Lucy) were apprehensive, but on walking through the door to see the whole cooking area on display, Gail and I were impressed! They cooked our Pasanda, Saag and Dhansak to order from fresh ingredients - more than I can say for many of our local Indians - where the sauces all look the same colour and texture. Thre in for excellent onion bhajees and cooked the naan and poppadoms on the side of the tandoori oven.
Amazing to watch, they worked with such skill, speed and expertise - and it was truly delicious - what a find - I'll be heading back there soon.
Did think about doing this as a B&W, but the beauty of Indian food is the colour - so you have colour!
