Beauty in the dust...

It's amazing what lovely things you can see if you look closely. This beautiful tortoiseshell butterfly was sitting on these flowers that were sparsely growing on a dried strip of land at the side of the road! He looks as magnificent here as he would sitting on an exotic flower in a tropical jungle!

Definitely my 'beautiful sighting' of the day. The gorgeous Alfred excluded of course... (he's just given me the jealous evil eye look! ). :-)
