Looking over the log store

Back home now for over a week and (other than talk) we hadn’t done anything more about getting the animals for our recently acquired hen house. So, today we checked out a recommended feed supplier, who gave us lots of useful advice, including a contact that he used for his own hens. He had about 20 there and they looked like nice specimens. Later this afternoon, we phoned the contact to discover that she knew our family from years back. In fact, she had supplied hens to our old farm and even knew all the aunts and uncles – such a small world! So, we’re to expect a call in about a fortnight to say they’ll be ready to collect, which gives us plenty of time to finalise our own preparations.

This is another back blip, of a shot taken somewhat in desperation. It’s getting harder to keep going!
