Mural, Mural on the Wall
This is the mural that's currently on my bedroom wall. There's more of it, of course, but none that's been painted in yet. I know what it's SUPPOSED to look like, and it's going to look grand, see, if my mother would only finish it!
(yes, yes, I still live at home with my mother and this mural is still unfinished ... and has remained so since I left high school and went on to college.)
She took the mural idea from a Mughal miniature on the cover of the Telugu Jyothi, a periodical we receive regularly and trash most of the time. However, this picture was too good to go to waste.
What's missing is the following: the woman is holding an instrument over her shoulder -- the Indian lute, the veena -- and there are miscellaneous trees etc. The deer needs a head. (Poor dear!)
The dress she's wearing needs to be fleshed out. I don't need to exactly say where. What has been done of the dress, however, has been patterned meticulously, and at the border of her skirt, we've hung tiny glass baubles hanging from a satin ribbon. This didn't come out in the picture, but I don't know how far back I can go, seeing that my room is only so big. :(
I wonder how I can tell my mother to finish it. Anyway, since it's been YEARS since she's attempted it, she'll have to buy her acrylics all over again and it'll be expensive. Let me see if I can purchase these acrylics and then my mother will have no choice. Or something. We shall see.
