The Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica)

Nowadays known by name Amur tiger.
The Siberian tiger is the largest living felid and ranks among the biggest felids to ever exist. The small wild population of Amur tigers has led to them being classed as endangered and this is mainly the result of human activities.
About 600 tigers lives in Zoo's, mainly in Europe and Asia.

In Korkeasaari Zoo live also Amur leopards, which are listed as Critically Endangered, only 40 of them lives in nature.
We had great day at zoo, even weather wasn't so nice. Took hundreds of photos of animals and life in Korkeasaari Zoo. Had to sort them later on...

I wanted to blip this one, because today Zoo had Fundraising event for Amur tiger. Such a beautiful and majestic animal. And her size is huge! She is alone at the moment, her former boyfriend moved to Ireland lately.
