Lake of the Isles

The lakes in the Twin Cities are beautiful and I asked to be taken to them for my long run of the week. I ran around Nokomis, then ran along E Minnehaha Parkway until it turned into W Minnehaha Parkway and then until I arrived at Lake Harriet. I ran up the west side of Harriet and the west side of Calhoun.

I walked into Calhoun to cool off and this shot was taken as I arrived at the south end of Lake of the Isles to do a loop around it for the northern end of my journey. I remember the lake being smaller than this but the more tired I became, the bigger the lake appeared. I used to live in this area but it felt unfamiliar after so many years away.

I was now just shuffling a tiny bit faster than the walkers and headed south, but called it a day on the east side of Lake Calhoun.

It was quite an effort and a relief to catch up later with the family.
