1744
This is the highest point in Auvergne, it's 1744 m above sea level. That's already higher than the highest mountain in Great Britain! Today I spent a day out with Marie-Helene, my neighbour this year who I unfortunately only got to know near the end of term. We visited Retournac in the morning, lunched in her amazingly rustic house - there's even a bed in the kitchen cupboard! - and climbed the Mont Menzanc in the afternoon with her neighbour Ariadne. We went for an apero chez les voisins and I got home feeling exhausted after a whole day of intense French speaking. So nice to get out of Le Puy and even if Auvergne is in the middle of nowhere, it sure is beautiful!
