There should be a city-wide audit of all garages, arches and lock-ups conducted to find out which are actually used. Those which FAIL this simple test could then be fixed up with nice signs saying "Actually, we're not doing anything with this at the moment so you're welcome to come a poke around inside it to take pictures or marvel at the huge spiders' webs in the corners" and their padlocks sundered upon the ground.

Perhaps they could have a Little Man to take care of their upkeep and distribution as with the allotments. Perhaps the audit could form part of the city-wide Cool Old Uninhabited Building survey I probably mentioned at some point after becoming envious of Team Magdeburg's economically sad but photographically cool industrial heritage.

If I had any skill in painting whatsoever then this one at the first bend of Meadow Lane would be a good place for a trompe l'oeil of a car sitting in a garage. Or a cobbled road leading off into the distance though that would need regular repair and repainting.

Then again it's quite nice as it is.
