Still Afloat

This is the 3 mast barquentine "Elisabeth Smit". It used to be a minesweeper.
After a big storm in 2002 it was severely damaged. Since then she lies just outside the harbor of Muiden.
After a long struggle between the owner and the city council the owner was ordered to remove the ship this month. The ship is a big safety hazard, the city council says. She is twisted and leaking, the wood is rotten and at some places completely gone. Without any help she sinks immediately. She is beyond repairing.
So perhaps this is the last picture of her. I liked the ship. Pammetje, the owner is a really authentic and somewhat strange kind of solitary. I think it gave some color to the experience.
