The Uncanny Valley
Am falling behind on my Blips again! but I wanted to post this in case your looking for a show to see at the Fringe. Details on the Edfringe website here.
I always feel bad when I go and see a show and there is a small audience (in today's case I counted 8!), especially when it's such a good show!
The show is presented by the cast of three Androids from the future who tell the story of a guy who falls in love with an Android, the cast transition between their future android characters and human (except the young woman who plays the Android) to tell the story, the character acting is excellent, their movement and voice patterns as Androids are convincing, as are their human characters.
It's simply done, with a bare set and a number of simple props and some very clever sound effects done using a small megaphone. It is a touching love story but it is also very funny, with humour through to the end.
Well worth seeing and Superbolt Thearte deserve a much bigger audience than they had this morning. It's on at the Underbelly Diary Room, just along the road from Bristo Square.
I know it's not a great photo (a bit out of focus) but it was a quick snap taken on my phone just before the house lights went down at the start of the show (I normally refrain from taking photos during a performance).
