Early Morning in the Park

The lonely swan in Audubon Park. My six year old great nephew asked me if I was sad because I have no children and I live alone. I told him no because I had family and friends.
I wonder if the swan is sad. He/she always is separate from the other fowl.

Or am I anthropomorphizing?
