Leckmelm

A day for painting on location.

After a slide show in the studio for inspiration we picked up our painting kits and a large drawing board with paper pinned to it and set off for Leckmelm farm. Three miles from Ullapool along the road which goes to Inverness. A great location in case of rain. There are lots of farm building in which to find interesting things to draw or paint or an old jetty on Loch Broom where there are lots of landscape possibilities.

This is the spot where Apothecary7 and I chose to use as our location for the day. The view is looking seaward towards Ullapool.

Apothecary7 focussed on the near shore in the morning and a view across the loch in the afternoon. I worked on views across the loch, neither of which I was happy with but my paintings did come in useful on Friday :-)

In the evening we had a 'course dinner' at the Ceilidh Place.
